Issue #16 - Second Book Announcement

It is the month of August and the heat of the summer here in Canada is bearing down and most of us love it! Sometimes it makes us a little lazy and that is okay too. Perhaps you are with a cup of lemonade or ice tea in this moment? Just in case you are in a lazy mood, I will make this newsletter short and sweet with one great announcement!

I am pleased to write on behalf of the Aquarian Team that we are going to go forward and create a second book! Our second book will aim to touch the heart of people as some of us share our personal story of how we awakened to the spiritual path.

The second book will be comprised of eight chapters. Each chapter will be written by different members of our team, which by the way has now expanded! We have included four other members who have expressed interest to participate in this book.

I have volunteered to be the co-coordinator and first editor of this book. We haven’t yet found a title for the book, so if anyone has a bright idea please let us know so we can consider your inspiration!

Our first book What the Future of Humanity Could Be has now been translated into Italian and German. I am also pleased to write that our French publisher Arianne is most interested to publish the second book! This has been a great motivating factor for all the authors.

We will likely go with Balboa Press (a division of Hay House) for the English version. Balboa Press produced our first book. From time to time this newsletter will give you an update on the progress of our next writing adventure.

That’s it. That’s the announcement…short and sweet. Hope you like it! Have a great remaining summer (for those who are in the northern hemisphere)!

“Life is like a novel. It's filled with suspense. You have no idea what is going to happen until you turn the page.” Sidney Sheldon

Issue #15 - POWER OF THE WORD AND SPEECH

In this newsletter we will treat an interesting subject; the power of the word and that of speech. One could ask what is the difference between the two? From what I have learned in the Initiatic Teaching, the power of the word is the thought being formed before the words or speech is expressed. If the thought process is well organized, it will be delivered in a comprehensible format.

We could say that the "word" is the spirit of words, like the "The Word became Flesh" meaning that the idea (the Logos, the Verb) preceded the speaking (the expression made manifest). So, to be understood clearly by others presupposes that one sends the thought ahead to formulate correctly the concept under discussion. At one point or other, we have all met someone whose speech is so disorganized that one loses sight of the main point. The thought is so fragmented that it leads the listener into confusion.

May be the first element to improve the power of the speech is to improve the clarity of the thought and that begins with self-observation:

•An awareness of the point being conveyed
• An elaboration of the point
• A follow through with that point
• A conclusion or wrapping up of that point

Now, to improve the power of the speech and to keep the attention of the person or persons listening, here are some recommendations given by Julian Treasure in this Ted Talk;
What to avoid:

• Gossip (for one knows who the next victim shall be)
• Judging (recognizing that one will be judged in return)
• Negativity (which leaves a dark, heavy feeling)
• Complaining (a drag that drags on, a real virus)
• Excuses (not taking responsibility for oneself)
• Lying (best enemy to trusting)
• Dogmatism (who needs the pointing finger!)

On the other hand, here are the 4 cornerstones to improve the reaching out of one's speech which is summarized by this wonderful acronym; HAIL i.e. defined as to approve or acclaim with enthusiasm:

• Honesty (be clear)
• Authenticity (be your true self)
• Integrity (be your words)
• Love (wish people well)

On that last note, wishing you well in this July month

Issue #14 - Re-educate ourselves

People are so busy planning their life ahead with every detail calculated and scheduled to the extent that there is simply no room for the Divine world to come in. This is because we have generally been conditioned to identify ourselves with the physical body, to rely heavily on external factors and what we perceive from others and our environment. For example, we value so much the opinions of others that we end up doing things that are not right for us and leave us disappointed or lead us astray.

It is now pertinent to re-educate ourselves and realise that we are not the body. We are the life force that moves through the body, that Life Force that gives life to our physical body, this life force that is referred to in different names such as God, the Universal Force, the primordial force, the Divine Power, etc.

Many people think it is extremely difficult to change this belief system to which we have been so accustomed to. However, some Great Masters said that, in fact, it is quite simple and not as complicated as we believe.

If you wish to know more on how to re-educate yourself and become a wonderful conductor for the Divine world, Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov gave many lectures on this subject with various methods to become aware and make changes.

Once this re-education is established and our inner computer software is rewired with the real understanding, we become fully aware of who we truly are, and then life takes a completely different meaning.

People who have made this discovery, no longer act or behave in the ordinary manner. Every decision they make, every action they take comes from the deepest part of their being by fine tuning themselves, by connecting with the life force, this Divine flame.

When people act this way, everything falls in the right place, everything flows harmoniously, and there is no room for error and for doubt, because the life force is now giving room for action. Wherever the Divine world flows, harmony, beauty, Love is present.

Issue #13 - Self-discipline in our Inner Life

"The goal in being a disciple is to obtain self-discipline in our life and most importantly in our inner life. There is an old saying from ancient Greece that says “Know Thyself”. Nowadays, when we look up to outstanding athletes, we always admire their great effort. In order to become excellent at their craft, they need to surpass themselves and it demands a lot of determination on their part. When they succeed, the glory and the rewards are tremendous in every aspect of their lives.

However, when we look into the life of disciples or someone who follows a spiritual path, it is no longer an external effort, but an inner one. They will have to face adversities through great difficulties, not only in one lifetime, but many lifetimes. Only at the end, after climbing the highest mountain inside, after facing their most powerful enemy, which is themselves, then and only then, they are ready to meet their true spiritual Teacher and be disciples.

From that moment, they can receive the divine heritage of their Master and there is no words to describe the rewards that the Universe will bring upon them. They will begin to play a role as a true servant, not by force but their own freewill. The disciples will be a great channel for their Master to work through them. They may not be recognized by their fellow humans, it does not matter, because true recognition will come from the invisible world. They will be convinced that they will never be alone. No matter the work to taken on their shoulders, they will accept it from one life to the next. They will gain great spiritual enlightenment along the path and, at the same time, they will help many other fellow humans, even without them recognizing it."

Issue #12 - Sun Rise Meditation – A Personal Experience

I was given a gift this morning while meditating, one that I’d like to share with you. I'll keep it simple.

I was breathing deeply. I was sitting on my balcony here in Thailand. The sun was rising over the crest of the small hill. I could feel the warmth tickling my face. The sun’s rays were dancing in between the branches and leaves of trees. Although my eyes were closed I could sense the flickers of little shadows across my lids made by the foliage. I kept breathing slowly and deeply. My attention was brought back to the little shadows flickering across my lids. I sensed those shadows were like negative thoughts. I was feeling kind of negative actually, if I am really honest. I didn’t even want to meditate this morning. But I kept myself in my “seat”. I said this too will pass. I paid attention to the little shadow flickers more and more and then suddenly the sun came into is full glory above the tree line and burst with magnetism and power of light! Can you imagine where the shadows went? Yes they got absorbed into that light and I was instantly back in happy thoughts. Wow that was beautiful I said to myself.

Then I thought about doing my breathing exercises. I was a little stuffy in my nose to be honest. Again the shadows came in of…ah I can’t even breath in through one nostril clearly…I can do this another time. But I stayed in my seat. I breathed in to a count of four – I spoke inside positive words like: joy, energy, love, peace. When I exhaled I chose to imagine I was exhaling out: negativity, heavy thoughts, angst, and impatience. I repeated the pattern another five times each time changing the words. By the time I was finished my nostrils had cleared as did the negative thoughts! Yeah.

It reminds me when I go for my swim. Often the first 5 minutes are full of grudging thoughts of – ‘ah I am not into this, this is boring, I should be doing something else… blah blah, blah, and then the page turns and I am so in the water… I could swim past my self-imposed 30 minute time line. I see the dazzling light in the water – I see the small waves my body is making as no one else is in the pool with me; I hear the sound of the water moving and I feel the sun kissing my face every four strokes when I raise my head out of the water to take a breath. The other day I saw how the light and shadow of my arms moving in the water gave me the feeling I was swimming in a canvas of paint made from light and shadow. I was loving it!

So the simple part is this. I now give myself those 5 minutes to be ‘moody’ before I start my meditation or exercise routine or even answering business emails. I am making friends with this little shadow thoughts that I know are only waiting for the light of my own consciousness, the power of my positivity to move them out. I mean, what is 5 minutes?

On the day of the Spring Equinox Thursday March 20, 2014 those of us who practise the teaching given by Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov, begin our sun-rise meditation practice in the western hemisphere

Happy sun rise to everyone!

Issue #11 - Equinoxes and Solstices

As you may know, the equinoxes and solstices are regulated by the movement of the sun in the Zodiac. The equinoxes correspond to the two days of the year when the sun crosses the equator during which, day and night are of equal length, that is March 21 and September 21. The solstices correspond to the two days on which the angle between the sun and the equator is at its maximum: for the Northern hemisphere, the winter solstice is on December 21 for the shortest day, and the summer solstice on June 21 for the longest day of the year; the opposite being the case for the Southern hemisphere.

Now, did you know that to the equinoxes correspond four Cardinal Feasts: Christmas, Easter, St John the Baptist and St Michael Archangel? These Feasts were instituted by the Initiates as a reminder that the sun sets particularly powerful currents in motion in the universe, and if we are aware of the, we can draw on them to advance our evolution.

At present, we are coming to the spring equinox on March 21st which is governed by Archangel Raphael and his hosts of helpers who work on the vegetation and distribute the forces of growth and regeneration. A time, during which Mother Nature wakes up from its sleep to revive, revitalize her garments.

“Why not take advantage of these currents throughout nature to revive our inner dormant energies? It is a time to invite the soul to a new impetus: absorb the energies of the sun early morning at sunrise and ask the sun to warm the seeds deposited in us by the Creator. Feeling a lift throughout our body as we breathe these powerful energies of nature, we can be so greatful to participate to this great work. Here is a brief homemade prayer you can say as you admire the metamorphosis in Nature: "Oh, Angel and Archangels, as you help everything bloom and blossom outside may you help also with every quality and virtue bloom and blossom within me!" For further information see vol. 32 from the Complete Works "The Fruits of the tree of Life, the Cabbalistic Tradition" by Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov, published by Prosveta.

Those of you on the Southern hemisphere can work with the opposite equinox and do another work by asking Archangel Michael to help you shed the unwanted energies and draw your good energies within to amplify them.

We will cover the other equinox and solstices together with the four Cosmic Feasts in a future issue. Stay tuned.

Issue #10 - The Power of Love

There are so many types of love, from the most basic, physical aspect where one only seeks one’s own interests and pleasure without much care or concern for the partner to the most sublime where one reaches ecstasy without a touch or a move. If we wish to look at what love really is, we might first want to understand how consciousness plays a role.

The great teachers of humanity tell us that the more we expand our consciousness the more we feel connected to the whole. To the degree of connection we feel to the whole, we feel the bond with all things. We can cultivate this bond by creating space in our awareness, degree by degree, making room for this extraordinary feeling, a sense of expansion that includes every living thing. Awareness is not related to analyzing things or “mind stuff” but rather to experience a sensation beyond emotions. In this connection with all things, one feels ultimate compassion and love, and it comes from the superior aspect of the heart.

One can begin by feeling love towards a loved one and from there feel one's heart expanding to include all men and women, without analyzing who they are and how they behave. One way to consider how this works is to take the sun as an example. It stays there, quiet, without moving yet sending its rays and warmth to everyone and everything. Thus we can begin by being quiet and still, and then practice sending love to everyone and everything around us. By creating this state of awareness, we expand little by little until one fine day we melt into this feeling that there is nothing else but LOVE in this entire universe. Love, it is said, is the glue that holds the universe together!

Love can bind us into the most imprisoning, distressing feeling or it can make us fly into space! The only difference lies in our awareness.

We are all concerned with love starting with sexuality as this is how the Creator made us in His laboratories. The principles of male and female are at the very basis of creation so why not begin by studying ourselves and expand from there?

We recommend reading the pocket book entitled “The Sexual Force or the Winged Dragon” from the Izvor collection or, if you are more inquisitive, there are 2 volumes dedicated to the subject entitled “Love and Sexuality” Part 1 & Part 2 (Complete Works, volumes 14 & 15), all titles by Omraam Mikhaël Aivanhov are published by Prosveta.

Issue #8 - The solar culture in the Veda and Puranas – Part 2

It is through the sun that Vishnu instills life. Life is contained in the prana (the vital energy or living-giving force). The prana contains the 7 Principles (tattvas), the 7 colors, the 7 sounds and the 7 spirits. Seven is the number of creation. It is through breath that the prana penetrates us.

Master Aïvanhov explains that the whole mystery of life is contained in the breath and that prana is at the foundation of all energies in the cosmos. Yet, life is not in the air itself. Fire and warmth are at the origin of life. For life to be well assimilated and beneficial, as it is in the case for food, one must chew the prana, particularly during the morning breathing exercises. Alchemy is the science of transformation and transmutation. By transforming solar prana into an etheric force, we can become alchemists ourselves.

Amongst the many formulas given by Master Aïvanhov, here is one that illustrates this idea well: "Oh luminous rays, penetrate within me and drive all the clouds away as your light alone can do so!"

It is also prana that works on the chakras. Indeed, breathing done consciously and properly at sunrise can awaken the chakras and help us develop numerous spiritual faculties. Through this process, we can reach the forces hidden in our subconscious. This is what the Tradition has also taught and what the Master continues to teach as well in his School of Light.

Let us conclude with another of those methods. Repeat the first 3 demands the Our Father prayer in this manner:

"Hallowed be Thy name” on the inhale
"Thy Kingdom come” holding your breath
"Thy will be done on earth as it is done in Heaven" on the exhale
"To love God is to meet Him each morning to capture his gaze"

Issue #7 - The solar culture in the Veda and Puranas

When the Vedic prophets call call Brahma the sun they refer, in reality, to the power behind the physical sun. It is said in the Gayatri mantra: "the sun is not the physical sun we see in the sky, it is the supreme intelligence that governs the heavens, beyond the triple manifested creation. The physical sun is at the image of the spiritual sun, the center of all the knowledge and of the radiating power."

In several passages of the Veda the sun is presented as the goal for creatures to attain. All of creation turns to the sun as the supreme creator.

The word "Surya" (sun) comes from the root SR (to move) and SU (stimulate). It is the soul of the moving and immutable universe. It give the impulsion to all that exists. It transforms water into steam, it surpasses the other stars by its brilliance. It draws the forces of the cosmos through the seven rays, pours its celestial qualities over all creatures. The sun is the guardian of all created beings.

This is the knowledge Vashista gave to Ram. He introduced him to the solar culture and ever since Ram has often been depicted with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshman worshiping the rising sun. Ram refers to the sun as the witness of everything that happens on earth. He knew that by contemplating the sunrise, the light would reveal its seven bodies through the seven rays. This enabled him to govern with an enlightened intelligence and heart, and his actions were also filled with light. Those who meet the sunrise each morning with respect and veneration, with humility and peace of mind, obtain the grace of Lakshmi, the divine mother. Those who contemplate the sun with a total attention are free from dangers, anxiety and sorrows. They are also free from temptation and enjoy immunity against all illnesses.

Vashista taught that the soul of the universe resides in certain rays of the sun. The seed of all things come from it. All the elements are contained within it.

The symbol of the circle with the dot in the center has been used to represent the sun and will be used again in the Kali Yuga era to bring the solar culture. The dot represents the center and the circle represents the converging movement toward the sun. All moving and immutable things have their center in the sun and their existence depends on its rays. The Sun is the only factor responsible for the creation, its conservation and its annihilation, as well as for all things animate or inanimate. Thus, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the conservator and Shiva the destroyer are directly linked to the sun.

In the present era, Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov explains all these truths in a simple language with the intention of tracing the path for a new solar culture. We invite you to read his pocket book entitled "Toward a solar civilization" published by Prosveta.
